Welcome to Elizabeth "Hot Stuff" Hightower Stanley's Website!

What I have been up to:
I am currently a high school counselor in Houston at the eighth ranked high school in the state! I'm loving being able to use my many years of Young Life experience to connect with high school students in a new way. I get to help them with their personal, social, and academic problems, as well as help them get into college. It's truly a joy!
I got married on July 17th to the awesome, Charles Stanley. After a "family honeymoon" in Borneo, we went straight back to work. We've been spending our time trying to get our house together and getting lots of things fixed- insulation, air conditioning, electrical, and most recently our plumbing. It's been a crazy first few months, but I am glad to do it all with Charles by my side.
For the past seven summers, I have gone to Asia for a mission trip. I go to the same city each time, and I have been able to develop some sweet relationships there. On those trips I usually teach English, lead Bible studies, facilitate summer camps, and more. My favorite part of those trips was volunteering at an orphanage for kids with special needs. Getting married and buying a house made it too logistically difficult for me to go to that Asian country this year. I was a little bummed not to be able to serve orphans this year.
I heard about a great short-term opportunity for me to serve with orphans in Honduras. We will be partnering with an on-going orphan ministry there. Click here to see more trip information. My boss has graciously given me permission to miss a week of work in order to go on this trip. I will be gone October 15-22. The trip costs $2200 and I would love for you to partner with me in prayer or finances.
